Assistant Accountant / Trust Accountant – Real Estate

Our client are a reputable company supporting the Real Estate industry, by offering them Accounts/Trust Account support with a strong presence and fast growing team. Their success is driven by the commitment to excellence, trustworthiness, and delivering exceptional service to their clients. As their business continues to grow, they are looking for their next Assistant Accountant, someone who loves to specalise and are looking for something left of field. 

As an Assistant Accountant, your primary focus will be on managing the trust functionality across a number of businesses, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, and maintaining accurate and up-to-date records. You will have the opportunity to work closely with a diverse team of agents and support staff, building relationships and providing guidance on trust account-related matters.

Given the dynamic nature of the role, we are looking for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and can handle a high volume of transactions. Experience in managing trust accounts within the real estate industry, whether that be Sales or Property Management, is desirable. You must possess a strong understanding of relevant legislation and regulations to ensure compliance and mitigate risk.

Responsibilities:
  • Completion of monthly accounting processes including bank reconciliations, debtors and creditors.
  • Processing bill payment runs and liaising with clients on month end queries.
  • Working closely with Management Accountants to support day to day functions including competition of month end processes and preparation of workpapers for compliance based tasks.
  • Providing support to the team with more advanced tasks during periods where other team members are on leave.
